Submit Your ATA Model, Let Us Help!

Since we published our blog article “Making VoIP Calls with Home Phone - ATA Configuration,” many readers emailed us with questions and inquiries about using their own ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) devices. Some readers have ATAs (Motorola, Linksys and D-link) from Vonage and ask if they are compatible with OneSuite, while some were looking for recommendations on which ATA works best with OneSuite’s broadband phone service.

Because it’s impossible to test all ATA brands and models in the market for OneSuite VoIP service, I thought I’d ask our readers to submit their wish list. All you need to do is to add your ATA brand/model on the comment box, and let us know which ATA you’d like us to test for compatibility. The top ATAs will be included on the test we’ll try to come up with a set of configuration settings on our blog.

Also in the light of new developments with OneSuite products and services, I’m starting an IT Knowledge Center (with the help of some OneSuite IT personnel) where our subscribers and future OneSuite users can ask questions about ATA configurations, softphone settings and even open-source IP PBX set-up. The useful and relevant questions will be answered and published on our future blog entries. This Knowledge Center also provides help in troubleshooting for any OneSuite VoIP-related issues.

    Hi, Jimbo,

    You need to unlock your D-link DVG-1120M to be able to use it with OneSuite VoIP or with another VoIP provider. I saw a couple of instructions online that might help you.

    Michael, I have used ATT's VOIP product, CallVantage for almost two years, it has been nearly flawless. ATT is discontinuing this service, but I still have a D-Link DVG-1120M. Will this work with OneSuite?

    Hi Jojo,

    Choosing between SPA3102 and PAP2T will depend on your needs.

    SPA3102 can be integrated with your PSTN (landline) but only supports one voip call at a time. You may use different VoIP providers but you can’t use them simultaneously.

    PAP2T on the other hand, can make or receive VoIP calls at the same time but you need two phones to do that. The disadvantage of PAP2T is you cannot integrate it with your landline.

    VoIP is easy to learn and I think sooner or later it will replace what we know as landline today. Come back anytime if you need some tips or if you have any questions regarding VoIP.

    Hi CJ, thanks for the visit.

    VoIP is nothing new and for all we know you might be using VoIP without knowing it. For sure, you make long distance calls or even overseas ones every now and then, and learning more information will get you better if not cheaper services.

    Don't hesitate to ask any questions regarding VoIP, calling cards or even mobile phone related information. I'll try my best to answer them.

    I got my Canon 400D for about $700 but that was 1.5 years ago already. It's the best entry-level DSLR at that time. BTW, the OneSuite blog header image was done by our webmaster.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for your comments! Wow I'm so jealous of your canon DSLR... would it be rude to ask how much you paid for it? Just cos I'm trying to find myself a decent camera myself, I'm stuck with a £20 Canon Ixus V at the moment! It's a brilliant camera for what its worth, but hardly something you'd want to make art with!
    By the way your site design is really neat, I love what you did with the title in the header image. I feel really guilty using your comments as some sort of chat box when you write such professional posts, so maybe I should make a run for it now!
