New BlackBerry App – OneSuite Mobile Dialer

Written by

Your BlackBerry helps you multi-task, and now OneSuite’s new mobile app helps you make your international calls with one touch! Our free app is available for easy download at BlackBerry App World.

No Wi-Fi or data plan required! The app acts as your invisible hand, eliminating the need to dial access numbers, PINs or destination numbers. You’ll know you’re being connected when you hear the prompts, just sit back until your call is picked up.

Follow just a few quick steps below to integrate the OneSuite app with your BlackBerry Address Book, so you can cut out the hassle next time you make your calls.

Here’s how to get started:

Setup

  1. After you’ve downloaded the app, open it and you’ll see OneSuite Mobile Dialer. (as shown in image 1)
  2. Go to Settings > Preferences (image 2)
  3. Quick Dial Mode: Quick Dial Mode (image 3) > Click to turn it on
  4. Direct Dial Settings: Go back to Settings > Direct Dial Settings to reach image 4 > 1). Enter your Account Number (PIN) ), skip if you have ZipDial set up for your cell phone number already, or see “Improve Your Calling Experience 1”; 2). Keep the default U.S. local access number, or enter another local access number. If you’re outside of the U.S. or Canada, enter an international access number.

Improve Your Calling Experience

Expedite your OneSuite Mobile Dialer connection time by following these useful tips:

  1. ZipDial + RapiDial = Speed
Save your phone under ZipDial + RapiDial so your OneSuite Mobile Dialer won’t need to take the extra step of entering your account number/PIN for you during the dialing process. See our previous blog post for ZipDial and RapiDial set up instructions. Remember that you DO NOT need to enter your Account Number (PIN) under Settings > Direct Dial Settings when your phone is saved under ZipDial.
  2. Skip Balance and Minute Announcements
For an even faster connection, when you are setting up ZipDial, under PIN Management, leave out your Balance and Minute Announcements so it won’t be included in the prompts.
  3. One Touch Dialing
Keep Quick Dial Mode turned on (see Setup, step 3) to call straight from your contact list.
  4. Destination Number Format
    In your contacts:
    Enter your U.S. and Canada numbers as: 1 + area code + phone number;
Enter your international numbers as: 011 + country code + area code + phone number.

Account Management

Mobile Site
To access your OneSuite account, visit our companion mobile site to manage settings, look up call history, check rates and search for local, toll-free or international access numbers.

You can also reach the mobile site from your app, under Settings > My Account.

Check your BlackBerry’s settings to ensure the best viewing options for the mobile site:

  1. Click on the BlackBerry button > Options > General Properties > Default Font Size = 9; Minimum Default Font Size = 6
  2. Click on the BlackBerry button > Options > Browser Configuration > Check Support JavaScript, Support HTML Tables, Support Style Sheets

    Hi Amir,

Really sorry the dialer was not working for you. Can you email me (at marketing@onesuite.com) the following so I can look into the system for you:

    1. have you set up zipdial?
    2. have you set up the access number (I'm sure if you've followed the steps above, you already have set up 1 & 2)
    3. the international destination number you dialed
    4. the local number you dialed
    5. the time and date you made the calls
    6. your onesuite username & account email

    Thanks a lot.

I set the App on BB per the instructions.
The international number starts with 011 then the countru code etc.
I get a message then the number is invalid. What am I doing wrong?
I tried to dial local number as well and received the same error.
    Thank you.
    Amir

My BB is unlocked with no sim but has WiFI. Will this app work using WiFI??
I have a one suite account for my land line but want to use the BB at hotspots.

    Hello Stephan,

Thanks for your suggestion. Based on feedback like yours, we are actually currently working to develop international number (“+”) detection, so to make it more convenient for our internationally travelers.

In the meantime, please take a few extra steps to replace “+” with “011” when you are using the OneSuite dialer app.

    Regards,

    Michael

It does not handle phone numbers that are stored in international format, e.g., +, which makes it useless for people that travel internationally. It should be easy to add a detection of that format and conversion to the OneSuite needed one, which would then make it a useful app.
